Kawasaki Z1000, 2017-2020 Same
engine with tweaks, now Euro 4 compliant. New instrument panel, gear position indicator and a shift-up indicator. Minor design updates Kawasaki has introduced a Z1000 R edition featuring new colours and high-end components like Brembo brakes.
Kawasaki Z1000, 2014-2016
The 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 ABS comes with a
lot of new features. New radically shaped fairings, a more futuristic-looking motorcycle Upgraded the 1043cc engine fuel injection system to increase the mid to high rev engine response. New four-piston monobloc calipers on the front Big piston Showa separate function fork Slightly larger gas tank New 6 -spoke lightweight aluminum wheels
Kawasaki Z1000, 2010-2013 To take the Super-Naked concept even further and made the 3rd iteration Z1000 even more fun to ride, Kawasaki’s engineers discarded the earlier method of using an existing superbike platform and instead started from scractch.
In 2010, Kawasaki gave the
Z1000 a complete overhaul, including a switch to a bigger 1043cc engine The chassis features a new aluminium twin-tube frame for responsive handling and light weight. Another interesting feature is the Horizontal Back-link rear suspension that contributes to mass centralisation and improved manoeuvrability, and fully-adjustable front fork. The new, lightweight, cast wheels come with 5 spokes, and petal rotors for both front and rear. Shorter silencers still retain the quad styling. The air intake ducts are now placed bear the fuel tank for a more aggressive look and lower air temperature. A new instrument panel has been installed, with 3-way adjustability and an eye-catching orange lens covering a multifunctional LCD screen. A low-profile front cowl and high tank are complemented by specially designed wheels and stylish front fork guards, giving the latest Z1000 a powerful, dynamic form.
The new Kawasaki Z1000
caused quite a stir. The motorcycle was officially marketed as the "Z1000 ABS", as ABS now came fitted as standard
Kawasaki Z1000, 2007-2009 Shocking Style and More Refined Performance Chassis upgrades included an all-new steel-tube diamond frame that incorporated a new aluminium sub-frame and mounted the engine as a stressed member, and a 25 mm longer wheelbase.
Displacement remained
unchanged at 953 cc, but improvements to the intake and exhaust systems
resulted in more low- and mid-range torque for blazing acceleration at
the cost of just 2hp. Other upgrades included radial-mount front brake calipers, and lightweight front and rear petal discs offering superior heat dissipation. ABS was available as an option.
Better Styling
Kawasaki Z1000, 2003-2006
The Z1000 represented a
return to the Z-models’ roots, from way back in the seventies, but with
a modern engine and design flair. The Z1000 was a departure from other naked sportbikes at the time and featured the same tail section as the ZX-6R machine, a four-one-four exhaust system, and a backbone frame that used the engine as a stressed member with removable mounts for easier maintenance. A technological feature mostly used on dirt bikes made its way into the Z1000 model, with the suspension fork that used one fork leg for compression damping and the other one for rebound damping.
The naked machine was based
on the renowned Ninja ZX-9R engine, with a larger bore, new cylinder
head, new cams, and chrome composite plating alloy cylinders that
reduced weight and improved heat dissipation. For braking performance, the bike packed two 300 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 292 mm disc squeezed by a two-piston caliper on the rear wheel. |
